Swift rescue centre survey now in 23 languages
18 new machine-translated versions for an even wider European reach
๐ Big news! The Europe-wide rescue-centre survey on swifts and extreme weather is now available in 23 languages โ 18 new ones added to the original 5.
Why so many languages
Wildlife rescue centres are scattered across the whole continent and often run by volunteers who may not be comfortable filling out a long form in English. To make participation as easy as possible, we have prepared machine translations of the original English form covering most major European languages โ from Bulgarian to Ukrainian, passing through Greek, Polish, Portuguese and Turkish.
How to use them
The native versions (English, Italian, German, Spanish, French) were prepared with native speakers and remain the most accurate. The 18 new versions are automatic translations: the meaning is preserved but some wording may sound a little off. If anything is unclear, just write to giulia.masoero@vogelwarte.ch and we’ll help.

Please help us share
If you know wildlife rescue centres in countries we haven’t reached yet โ or if you can share the link in your local community โ it makes a real difference. The more centres take part, the better we can document the impact of heatwaves and extreme weather on European swift populations.
