We are launching a Europe-wide survey of wildlife rescue centres to assess how heatwaves and extreme weather impact swift nestlings, using large-scale admission data. If your centre collects data on swifts, we would love to collaborate.

I was invited to Rai Radio3 Scienza to discuss climate change and how it is reshaping the lives of Alpine swifts. The conversation aired on 5 January 2026.

Our new paper in Ibis shows that, contrary to the widely reported shrinking-bird pattern, a Sand Martin (Riparia riparia) population in northwestern Italy has actually increased in both body mass and wing length over the past two decades.
